LearnWrite cc is an Independent Assisted Learning School registered with the Gauteng Department of Education. The school was established in 2001 to fullfill the need of providing individualised, specialised schooling for learners who experience a barrier/s to learning.
LearnWrite cc aims to equip all learners holistically with essential foundational skills within a secure, supportive and nurturing environment. Learning and overall development takes place in a non-threatening, loving but structured setting where learners gain confidence, their self-esteem is boosted and maintained and learners are able to develop to the best of their abilities.
The focus is on filling in any gaps in learning; assisting learners with coping strategies (regarding academic barriers and organisational skills) to become more independent; as well as; boosting and maintaining confidence levels and self-esteem.
The school believes in a team approach and encourages parents/guardians to participate and become actively involved in all aspects of the learners' education. Communication is essential. The school regularly communicates with parents, as well as, with therapists and/or other specialists actively involved in the education of the learner.
LearnWrite cc also offers individualised and/or small group classes in the afternoons to learners who need extra assistance in certain academic areas or subjects.

The South African Schools Act (SASA) of 1996 established a national schooling system and recognised two categories of schools: public and independent.
