We provide a safe, nurturing and happy environment where the children are able to explore and find themselves as individuals. We encourage them to think creatively and solve problems. We promote learning through play and prepare the children for the more formal environment of the Preparatory School. All of the teachers have and education degree or equivalent diploma.
Starting school is a big step!
It may, in fact, be the first time that child and parent are separated and this could cause some anxiety, particularly for mum and dad! Parents, please be assured, these fears and worries are normal and are to be expected. It is my pleasure to inform you that our teachers have been chosen with great care. Apart from being excellent educators, well-trained and experienced, they have a deep love for and understanding of the needs of young children.
We cater for:
Grade 000 (3 to 4 years old)
Grade 00 (4 to 5 years old)
Grade 0 (5 to 6 years old)
Our curriculum is tailor-made to suit the needs of the different age groups. We balance indoor and outdoor activities. Some are adult-driven while others allow the children to explore, discover, climb, swing, ride bikes, build and take apart. Play, an important developmental need, is catered for in an exciting, enriched, safe and thought provoking environment.
All of the activities are chosen in order to stimulate and provide opportunities for the development of curiosity, imagination and concentration. Simple rules and routines, creative exploration and free expression are vital to the development of a child’s sense of well-being and of self-confidence and are central to each day’s programme.
Included in our Pre-Primary Curriculum are the following:
Physical Development
Music
Drama
Computer Education (from Grade 00)
Creative Activities
Perceptual Training
Songs, games, language enrichment ……and much much more!
