At Crawford La Lucia Pre-Primary, we believe in educating our children for life. The children of today are facing an ever changing and rapidly developing world. Through our teaching and learning, we aim to encourage and facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, skills and values by our children to foster their ability to overcome challenges and develop a positive growth mindset, so they in turn can make their mark on the world in the 21st Century.
Ethos
The programme at Crawford La Lucia Pre-Primary is based on a value system and interactive collaborative learning. Our academic philosophy of “Think, Understand and Apply” is evident in our group work, project based activities and social and emotional guidance.
Every day at Crawford I am reminded how fortunate our children are to be surrounded by the beauty and sounds of nature. It is truly a joy to come to school and share our learning environment with monkeys, mongoose, birds, insects and indigenous trees. This truly unique educational environment is a constant source of excitement to our many international families. Our natural Crawford Conservancy is the perfect outdoor “classroom “for our pupils to learn to appreciate and care for our planet.
At La Lucia Pre-Primary we aim to facilitate exploration, discovery and problem solving while creating many opportunities for learning through play. We believe the children of today need to develop emotional courage and resilience in overcoming challenges and grow a strong sense of self.
As the little people entering our Pre Primary today, journey through the Preparatory and emerge from our College, they will be well prepared to enter into a very different but exciting world in which to continue to learn, work and live.
Our teachers have been chosen with great care and besides being excellent educators; they have a deep commitment to understanding each child’s needs. We value the close relationship between home and school and encourage parent participation in their child’s exciting journey of learning that continues throughout their school years and indeed throughout life!
